AN ANGEL FOR THE WORLD CHILDHOOD FOUNDATION
 

This Eleven Dot Angel is truly very special: For the first time in its over 100-year history, the Angel bears dots of many different colors instead of eleven white dots.

With this color variation, we integrate one of the central design elements of the World Childhood Foundation as a visible symbol of our shared values. Lovingly handcrafted, this extraordinary figurine has been produced in a limited and numbered edition of 25,000 to mark the 25th anniversary of the founding of the World Childhood Foundation.
 

When the painters in our workshops apply the white dots to the wings of the Eleven Dot Angel, it is almost an automatic action. The process is completely different when they apply the colored spots to the Childhood Angel, however. To add the multicolored spots, the painter must lift the angel up eleven times. Each time a spot is added, the painter has to change both the color and the dabbing stick.

From May 13, 2024, the angel will be available with either blond or dark hair, and holding a candle in either the right or left hand.

This special edition, limited to 25,000 individually numbered pieces, has been produced to mark 25 years since the founding of the World Childhood Foundation, which is celebrating its quarter-century this year. The unique number can be seen on the base of the figurine, and is also printed in the accompanying leaflet and on the angel’s green splinter box.

The World Childhood Foundation was founded in 1999 by Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden with the aim of protecting children’s right to a secure, loving childhood, and of improving the living conditions of any children threatened or affected by (sexual) violence. The World Childhood Foundation’s four linked foundations, which are located in Germany, Sweden, the USA, and Brazil, currently work with over 60 partner organizations in 14 countries.
