Black Forest Gifts sell Mechanical Cuckoo Clocks from Anton Schneider, Hones, & our own low cost clocks from the Black Forest in Germany.
Clocks from Anton Schneider, & Hones come with the Black Forest Clock Organization Certificate. All our mechanical clocks are made in Germany and all use the same movements made by Regula.
Hones Clocks are our favorite in a cottage design Cuckoo Clock, carvings of people are high quality. Their finish is excellent and they have some very unique clocks, such as their Kissing and Maypole Clocks. They also have an Owl Clock that Hoo Hoo's. Most 8 day Cuckoo Clocks from Hones have a 36 note music movement. Hones has recently introduced a new screw adjustable pendulum.
Anton Schneider has been in business over 150 years and have several unique features. They are the only manufacturer that offers the dance platforms driven by a chain which allows them to offer some unique clocks, they also are the only manufacturer to offer an automatic night shutoff on several 8 day clocks. The people carvings from Schneider have improved and today are as detailed as the ones from Hones. Their 8 day clocks come with 22 note to 36 note music movements, they tend to use more of the smaller note movements.
All Mechanical Cuckoo Clocks sold by Black Forest Gifts carry a 2 year warranty from date of purchase by Black Forest Gifts.
Quartz Cuckoo Clocks have a 1 year warranty from the date of purchase.
The clocks are hand carved in the Black Forest Region of Germany from Linden wood. All mechanical Cuckoo Clocks will have a brass clock movement made by Regula in Germany.
- Anton Schneider's dance platforms are driven from the music movement with a chain, this allows mounting the dance platforms in places other than above the movement in the clock.
- Hones use a high quality gear driven dance platform mounted directly to the clock movement.
Black Forest Gifts purchases all of the Cuckoo Clocks direct from the Manufacturer in Germany so we can offer Cuckoo Clocks at lower prices to our customers.
- 1 day Cuckoo Clocks require the weights pulled up each and every day for proper operation.
- 8 day Cuckoo Clocks require the weights pulled up once per week for proper operation.
- Music movements range from 18 note single melody movements, 22 note dual melody, 28 note dual melody, 36 note dual melody. Naturally the more notes the higher quality sound.
- 1 day Cuckoo Clocks will normally have an 18 note or 22 note music movement. If the clock has a dual melody 22 note it will play one melody on the hour and the other on the 1/2 hour.
- 8 day Cuckoo Clocks will normally have either a 22, 28, or 36 note music movement, the higher the price the clock will normally have a higher quality music movement. 8 day Cuckoo Clocks will play one melody on the hour and the other melody the next hour.
- All Cuckoo Clocks come with instructions in English, if you have problems after reading the instructions we are only a phone call away.
