- A careful historic research on the origin and the symbolic values of the doll has brought us to rediscover her function, in the past, not only as a toy for children, but also as a propitiatory image for female fertility.
- The production of the Sartoni Laboratory privileges the use of natural materials and offers a vast range of models with common characteristics: the parts of the body are movable and are connected to the body with elastic links, the faces are hand painted.
- The choice of the models of the dresses and their making requires patience and precision, bearing in the mind that the dolls are mainly of small and medium sizes; the materials used come mainly from old trousseaus, linen and laces.
